Sure. So Malbec is a contract lifecycle management company, we have a really lean, advanced, intuitive platform, I would say, that allows legal departments to better manage the entire lifecycle of their contracts, everywhere, you know, everything from contract implementation to managing the negotiation process to implementation, execution and all that. And so it`s a really good platform, honestly, you know, I`ve used a variety of different platforms throughout my career, and this one is by far the easiest for me to upgrade and allows me to get everything I need to prepare very quickly. and removes a lot of pain, if not all, if not all, if not all the pain, I would say, to contract management. And so it`s really great service and a great product. And the company itself, which I can`t talk about enough about the people, is fantastic. They are very experienced in space. They know what they are doing. They really care about their product, they also really care about the people who are their customers, and they also care about the people who work for the company.
And it was just a great experience. And I feel truly honored and humbled to be a part of the company. Yes, no, so true. And thank you for highlighting this and giving some good practical suggestions and an overview. Now let`s move on to legal technology, which, as you know, is currently one of the world`s most prominent opinion leaders, in my opinion, in this area. But again, legal technology can be a buzzword that a lot of people are talking about. But what exactly is this concept? And to that end, what are we talking about when we talk about legal technology, as opposed to, for example, legal design? What is the latest novelty in the world of Colin`s legal technology. Yes, no, and I love it. And I didn`t know it was such a generational legal family. So, thank you very much for sharing that, and of course, for addressing why, and maybe how you broke into the law, but when did legal technology become your focus? Not really. But, uh, but as far as the lawyer is concerned, sort of a piece of me.
So my mother was a lawyer. My mother`s father was a lawyer. His uncle is a lawyer. Many lawyers on this side of the family, who may have played a small role in my decision to become a lawyer, aspire to become lawyers. But in reality, what attracted me to the law was the fact that the legal profession and the legal industry encompass many different areas. And so, if you`re a lawyer, you have some kind of contact with many different areas that you`re always learning. And certainly the in-house lawyer, who has certainly had much of my experience, has come to know all these other areas of activity, all of which have legal implications. And so my job as a lawyer was basically to learn about all these different areas and see how I could better serve the clients I worked for. That`s a good question. I think a lot of young lawyers would do well to understand how to work with others, how to listen and learn from others, how to work together, how to recognize the fact that you don`t know everything, and that you won`t always know everything, and that`s okay, that`s why you rely on others and learn from them.
I would also say to understand that technology doesn`t just program robots, and no, you don`t have to learn how to program to be tech-savvy. Technology shouldn`t be intimidating or anxiety-provoking. Technology should be considered as another tool in your toolbox that you can use to provide legal services to those who rely on you to provide services. With that in mind, I would say look at what you do as your job and understand what could potentially help you do that job better. Whether it`s a technical tool, learning something new or listening to someone else and learning how they work and what they know.
