Care and enrichment technicians play an important role within the CRC team to ensure that animals remain enriched and their environment remains clean to support the overall safety and welfare of all animals in our care. The role of the Care and Enrichment Technician (CET) is to keep the breeding and exercise areas clean and disinfected throughout the day with daily cleaning and stain cleaning, clean, prepare and provide daily enrichment items to keep animals busy and relieve stress, help with playgroups and monitor interactions and behaviors, and bring any behavioral or medical concerns to the right point of contact. This role may also include the local transport of animals. One of the most important functions of the CET is to be part of a harmonious and unified team of shelter operations, shelter physicians and animal behavior experts, all dedicated to working together to ensure balanced and holistic care.
